NABE Foundation - Americans for the Arts Scholarship
Introduction
The NABE Foundation, the charitable arm of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE) is awarding its second annual Americans for the Arts scholarship to encourage the integration of the Arts into the economic education process. We believe that good economic strategy is inherently dependent on our ability to come up with out-of-the box solutions to the challenges that we now face. Our hope is that we enable those with the gift of creative problem solving to further the profession of economics through their unique understanding of the world.
The National Association for Business Economics is the largest international association of applied economist, strategists, academics, and policy makers committed to the application of economics in decision making in the world. The NABE Foundation is supported by NABE members to provide scholarships, education, and other efforts to build the economic profession.
Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America. With more than 45 years of service, it is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts.

NABE Foundation Professional Development Seminar
Each year, The NABE Foundation sponsors the Professional Development Seminar to help professionals new to the economics field. The seminar provides them with the skills and development that keep the profession moving forward and that can easily be applied to in the workplace.
The “Cal Tech Initiative”
The NABE Foundation hopes to support original research in the field of economics. Since 2006, The Foundation has supported this initiative. Original research pushes the boundaries of cutting-edge economics into new areas. The Cal Tech Initiative is a first-time forecast available with probability distributions attached to the consensus forecast.
Research-Oriented Seminars and Publishing in Journal
Through this initiative, The Foundation will partner with other organizations such as the Federal Reserve to sponsor forums to discuss important business issues. Papers from the seminars, as well as other papers, would be published in the journal Business Economics, to disseminate the information to people other than those who attended the seminar.
Media Seminar
In an effort to help journalists better understand the business economics profession and economic indicators; The Foundation sponsors an annual seminar for journalists. This leads to better reporting and understanding by the general public.
NABE Chapter Initiative
The NABE Foundation seeks to partner with chapters to find local programs worthy of funding. In the past, The NABE Foundation has supported local chapter essay competitions. It is continually looking for new ways in which it can partner and support local initiatives with an eye on possibly launching good ideas into national Foundation initiatives.
College Student Chapters
The NABE Foundation encourages the development of college-level student chapters to provide applications of business economics. We now have three student chapters. .
